What’s Inspiring Me Now: With Qurate Retail Group’s Naomi Jacobs
Director of Social Strategy & Business Development
We know that sometimes, work, family—OK, life—can get a bit challenging. That’s why we’re interested in hearing what is inspiring successful women now. Here are four things from the Qurate Retail Group’s Naomi Jacobs.
- Being a better leader is always a goal of mine, so right now I’m reading Radical Candorby Kim Scott. Her philosophy is focused on caring personally while challenging directly, and the lessons she shares have been really insightful.I also recently finished The Most Powerful Woman in the Room Is You, by auctioneer Lydia Fenet. A teammate recommended it to me, and I read it in a single day while on vacation!
- My 5-year-old daughter came home from school with a drawing of what she wants to be when she grows up, and I couldn’t have been prouder when it said ‘Alex Morgan.’ The US Women’s National Team is inspiring in so many ways—teamwork, women supporting women, and their fight for pay equality. I’m so thankful for their voices.
- Sophia Amoruso is a personal hero of mine, so when I heard about her new Girlboss network, I immediately joined. Girlboss is a free professional networking platform and community for women to help them build their businesses and careers. Their weekly digital fireside chats allow you to connect directly with some pretty incredible women!
- I’m forever sharing my love for LinkedIn with anyone who will listen. It’s a powerful platform for sharing, connecting, and networking. I’m on it every day, and it’s really been a game-changer for me professionally.
Naomi Jacobs is the Director of Social Strategy & Business Development for Qurate Retail Group. Fun facts: her favorite thing to do is take photos of her two kids for Instagram, she never has fewer than 30 tabs open in her browser, and she organizes her iPhone apps by color.
