Valerie Biberaj
VALERIE BIBERAJ is the executive director of the kate spade new york Foundation. In this role, she has overseen the reinvention of the organization, formulating the philanthropic strategies under the new mission statement of empowering women to transform their communities. The Foundation contains a dynamic portfolio of grantees that economically empower underprivileged women in New York City through technology, entrepreneurship and the arts. From pilot programs with established organizations like the International Rescue Committee to nascent nonprofits like Coalition for Queens, the kate spade new york Foundation prides itself on true partnerships with grantees, helping them succeed and grow in ways most meaningful to them and the women they serve. Biberaj worked for a number of non-profit organizations, as well as in the general counsel and chief of staff’s offices at David Yurman, where her projects included the Yurman Foundation. Biberaj earned a BA from New York University in English literature and creative writing, followed by a JD from Brooklyn Law School. She is a member of the Artemis Circle of the New Museum, supporting female artists. @katespadeny
