Michelle Histand

MICHELLE HISTAND is the director of innovation for Independence Blue Cross. She uses design thinking to help solve challenging issues in healthcare and beyond. She loves drawing the creativity out of people and teaching them that even the most technical or data- driven people can be expansive thinkers. Histand is also the executive director of B. PHL Innovation Festival. She has a tremendous amount of pride for her home City of Brotherly and Sisterly Love, Philadelphia, and co-founded the festival in 2019 as a way to highlight innovation in the region and draw more attention to the city. Shealso loves being an adjunct professor at Temple University, where she teaches topics on innovation and entrepreneurship. Histand has her BA in liberal arts and her master’s in writing studies from St. Joseph’s University. @IBX
