LT. SUSAN SLAWSON served as a civil service employee in the City of Philadelphia for 30years. She was promoted to sergeant while assigned to Public Affairs and was assigned to the Police Athletic League and soon re-assigned to Public Affairs as the commanding officer of, for the 4th largest police department in the country. She also started a girl’s program that serves over 500 young girls ages 11-17. Slawson, a teen mom, received her bachelor’s degree in management from Geneva University. After retiring in 2016, Slawson received her certificate as an executive coach, from Concordia University, Irvine CA. She has since started her own consulting business. Slawson has been recognized by the Philadelphia Tribune, the Philadelphia Business Journal, PAL, the National Congress of Black Women, and other organizations, for her work making a difference in the lives of youth and contributing to the overall quality of life in Philadelphia.
