LORAINE BALLARD MORRILL is Director of News and Community Affairs for six radio stations, where she also coordinates community outreach and campaigns and hosts and produces two community podcasts. Under her leadership, the stations have received numerous awards for service to the community, including a collective eight National Association of Broadcasters Crystal Radio Awards, an inaugural NAB Crystal Heritage Award, and recognition by Philadelphia Foundation’s Civic 50 Greater Philadelphia. Her personal honors include Philadelphia Human Relations Commission’s Human Rights Award, Women’s Alliance For Job Equity’s Certificate of Courage, the March of Dimes Achievement in Radio Lifetime Achievement Award, The Philadelphia NAACP President’s Award, the inaugural Karin A. Phillips Excellence Award presented by the Philadelphia Black Public Relations Society, Harris Wofford Active Citizenship Award from the Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service, the BEBASHI Power of 30 Award, the Arête of Media Award presented by Women in Media, WOAR’s Bridge of Courage Award, City and State’s Fifty Over Fifty and the Black Women’s Roundtable SiStars Leadership Award. Ms. Ballard Morrill serves on numerous boards including PHLDiversity, the Read by 4th Leadership Committee, Girl Scouts of Eastern PA and Global Citizen 365.
