Heather F. Russell
HEATHER F. RUSSELL, Ph.D. is a licensed clinical pediatric psychologist at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Philadelphia, and is affiliated with The Center for Neural Repair and Rehabilitation at Temple University School of Medicine. Russell earned her undergraduate degree from Smith College in Northampton,MA, and earned her doctorate degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. She completed her internship at duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE., and her postdoctoral fellowship at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. In addition to addressing all the psychological patient needs in the hospital, an area of special interest for Russell is understanding through research the relationships between coping and psychosocial outcomes in youth with spinal cord injury and their caregivers. Russell is the president of the Psychologists, Social Workers and Counselors Section of the Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals; VP of the Academy of Spinal Cord Injury Professionals; chair of the program committee for the American Spinal Cord Injury Association; a member of the American Psychological Association, Division of Rehabilitation Psychology and Society of Pediatric Psychology; and a Fellow in the Pennsylvania Psychological Association.
