Dr. Michelle Lowry
DR. MICHELLE LOWRY is the TD Bank professor of finance and the academic director of the Gupta Governance Institute at Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business. She previously served on the faculty at Penn State and has served as a visiting scholar at University of Pennsylvania, INSEAD, and University of Southern California. She is a founder and vice president of AFFECT (Academic Female Finance Committee), which strives for gender equality among the field of finance academics. Lowry is an associate editor of the Journal of Financial Economics. Her research focuses on issues in empirical corporate finance, including initial public offerings, contrasts between private and public firms, corporate governance, and mergers. Her research has attracted attention in the popular press, including the Wall Street Journal, NPR’s Morning Edition, and Forbes. Lowry earned a PhD and MS in applied economics from the University of Rochester, and BA in economics and public policy from Duke University. @michelle_lowry @lebow
