Dr. Happy Fernandez
Happy Craven Fernandez, Ed.D. recently completed 13 years as president of Moore College of Art & Design, the nation’s first and only visual arts college for women. Under her leadership, Moore College expanded academic programs, facilities and endowed scholarships, including women’s leadership fellowships and programs. Fernandez ran for Mayor of the City of Philadelphia and served eight years as an elected city-wide member of the Philadelphia City Council. She has been a professor at Temple University, a founder and leader of numerous advocacy organizations, and a member of over 30 boards. Fernandez’s “next chapter” is to support, mentor and empower the coming generations of women leaders of non-profit and public service organizations. Dr. Fernandez earned a bachelor’s from Wellesley College, a master’s from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, a master’s from the University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate in Urban Education from Temple University.
