Clarissa Murray
CLARISSA MURRAY is a 17 year old student at Strawberry Mansion High School. She’s lived in the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia for almost all of her life. The neighborhood sees hundreds of violent crimes annually. With a verve to push through the struggles of her surroundings, and the strong support of her family, Murray has managed to keep an A average and is one of the three students in her school’s honors program. School has helped her to reevaluate her life and to strive and focus on figuring out who she would become. Murray has had the opportunity to perform community service in the Autistic Support classroom which sparked an interest in becoming a youth advocate. She is a member of the Women Banker’s mentor program hosted by a group of women from US Bank. She is also currently participating in a dual enrollment program at Community College of Philadelphia, and is a member of the varsity volleyball team and served as team captain.
