Barbara Corcoran
Keynote Speaker | Entrepreneur, Television Star and Caregiving Advocate
BARBARA CORCORAN is a renowned entrepreneur, author, investor and Shark on ABC’s four-time Emmy Award-winning show Shark Tank, where she has invested in more than 120 businesses during her 15-season tenure. While building her highly successful career and raising a family of her own, Barbara also balanced caregiving for her beloved mother, Florence, who lived with Alzheimer’s dementia and symptoms of agitation in Alzheimer’s dementia. Caring for the mother she loved and adored was a long and difficult road for Barbara. Over those nine years, Florence became almost unrecognizable to her family, and slowly drifted deeper and deeper into her own private world. It was also heartbreaking for Barbara and her family to watch Florence experience symptoms of agitation in Alzheimer’s dementia, such as restlessness and irritability. Barbara attributes many of the lessons she learned from her mother before Alzheimer’s set in as being pivotal in helping her excel in business. Today, Barbara is the author of the bestseller Shark Tales: How I Turned $1,000 into a Billion Dollar Business! and host of the top business Substack channel “Barbara in Your Pocket.” Currently based in New York City, Barbara continues to inspire entrepreneurs and business enthusiasts nationwide, often serving as a motivational and inspirational speaker, and frequently contributing to organizations on topics related to small business and real estate.
