Press Release: Hillary Rodham Clinton to Deliver Keynote at 2013 Conference for Women
August 19, 2013—The 2013 Pennsylvania Conference for Women announced today that Hillary Rodham Clinton, Former U.S. Secretary of State, will deliver a keynote address at the event on November 1, 2013 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. Also appearing will be Madeleine Albright, America’s first woman Secretary of State and bestselling author, and Judge Glenda Hatchett, host and star of the Emmy-nominated television show Judge Hatchett. Albright and Hatchett are returning to help celebrate the Conference’s 10th anniversary. The Conference also announced that Sallie Krawcheck, one of the most respected voices on Wall Street and business leader, 85 Broads, will join Clinton, Albright and Hatchett as a keynote speaker.
“There is no more fitting way to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Conference than by hearing from Secretary Clinton, a woman who has inspired millions,” said Leslie Stiles, Board President of the Pennsylvania Conference for Women. “Clinton and our other renowned speakers will challenge women to boldly imagine and explore new futures for themselves, their businesses, and their communities through this year’s theme, the Power of Possibilities.”
The nonpartisan, nonprofit conference is Pennsylvania’s largest personal and professional development event for women, attracting more than 5,000 attendees each year. Themed “The Power of Possibilities: Define Your Own Success,” the 10th Anniversary Conference will feature hundreds of speakers for a day of inspiration, reinvention and networking. Topics include leadership, career advancement, money management, health and wellness, small business and entrepreneurship, social media, branding and more.
In previous years, attendees have benefited from the insights of trailblazers such as former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor, women’s rights pioneer Gloria Steinem, journalist and former co-host of “The View”, Lisa Ling, life coach and author Martha Beck, former Olympic athlete and WNBA player Marion Jones, Pulitzer-Prize winning historian and commentator Doris Kearns Goodwin, PepsiCo Chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi and many more.
Exclusive to the Pennsylvania Conference for Women, Local Leader Meet Ups offer attendees the chance to have one-on-one conversations with local businesswomen and community leaders, and intimate Expert Exchange sessions offer a focused discussion with industry veterans. Conference attendees also have the opportunity to participate in the popular Career Pavilion, featuring resume reviews by human resource experts, Coaches Corner (one-on-one “speed coaching” sessions with career and life coaches from the Philadelphia Chapter of the International Coach Federation), workshops on communication skills and social media, and much more.
The Conference Health & Wellness Pavilion showcases speakers and companies dedicated to improving women’s health, while onsite exhibits feature hundreds of organizations and companies with products or services that appeal to women.
