Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the 2024 Pennsylvania Conference for Women!
Please review the following information carefully before proceeding with your application to volunteer at this year’s Conference. Preference will be given to local volunteers in each market.
This is NOT the place to sign up for Resume Review and Career Coaching – individuals interested in providing their time for those opportunities should contact [email protected]
There are TWO volunteer shifts at this year’s Pennsylvania Conference for Women:
- Volunteering with set up the day before the conference
- Volunteering all day on conference day (with a break midday to hear the main stage speakers and enjoy lunch).
All volunteers receive free access to the virtual National Conference for Women on March 5, 2025 as a thank-you for volunteering your time. Volunteers on set-up day November 6th will also receive free admission to the in-person conference on November 7th. There is no need to register for the Conference separately if you are confirmed as a volunteer — you will be registered through the volunteer program.
Each volunteer shift has a limited number of spots. If you are unable to sign up for the shift you prefer, that means it has reached capacity and you will need to select the other shift. If you are unable to access sign-up for either day, we’ve reached capacity. A waiting list will be available.
Once your volunteer form is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive that email within a few hours, please go back and try signing up again using the same email address. The system will either accept the second try or indicate that the email has already been registered. If you have trouble or do not receive a confirmation please do not sign up a second time with a different email address… this approach takes a spot from someone else and causes confusion for the volunteer team.
Approximately 4-5 weeks before the conference, you will receive an email seeking confirmation that you are still interested and available to assist on the shift you selected. You MUST respond to that confirmation email to secure your spot. Be sure to check your spam folders periodically and make sure to add [email protected] to your approved senders list. The volunteer team will try to reach you but will need to contact others on the waiting list if we don’t hear back in a timely fashion.
There are very few tasks that do not involve walking or standing. If you are unable to stand or walk without frequent breaks, this may not be the best volunteer opportunity for you. If you require a special accommodation please email [email protected] so we can determine if this opportunity is a fit for you.
Available Shifts (Volunteers must be available for the full shift)
Wednesday, November 6 (day before conference) 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Duties include: assembling name badges, delivering materials to various locations, putting numbers and placemats on luncheon tables, and other tasks as needed.
Dress: Casual, comfortable clothes and shoes – position requires walking and standing
Thursday, November 7 (conference day) 6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Duties include: assisting at security entrances, providing directions, assisting in session rooms, managing lines for various activities in Interactive Hall, and other tasks as needed.
Dress: Each individual helping on conference day will receive a T-shirt to clearly identify him/her as a volunteer. Volunteers should wear a white top that can fit easily under the volunteer T-shirt and dark pants or skirt. Jeans free of holes and fraying are also acceptable. We recommend comfortable clothes and shoes that support a lot of walking.
Sign Up to Join our Volunteer Waitlist
Please note: Waitlist volunteers could be contacted up to a week before the conference date to see if you are still available; this will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.
If you are already on an existing Day-Before or Day of Conference volunteer list, please DO NOT sign up for the waiting list. This list is for those volunteers who tried to sign up after the list was filled.
